Winemaker’s Table, Lunch with Phil Ryan
07 Mar 2020
Join us for our Winemaker’s Table, Lunch with Phil Ryan – Saturday 7th March 2020.
Showcasing the ‘new release’ Saddler’s Creek Ryan’s Reserve Collection, we also celebrate our long-standing relationship with Australian winemaking legend Phil Ryan, whose valued contribution is honoured through our Ryan’s Reserve Collection.
These hand crafted wines made under the tutelage of Phil in collaboration with our head winemaker, Brett Woodward. The resulting wines are of outstanding quality, synonymous with Saddler’s Creek signature winemaking style, reflecting the terroir of the fruit and the expertise of our winemakers. Ryan’s Reserve Collection are hand crafted premium wines, offered in small batches and limited to just 125 cases of each varietal.
Phil Ryan is a respected international wine show judge since the early 1980’s and was recognised for his contribution to the NSW wine industry in 2006, when he was awarded the prestigious Graham Gregory Trophy. Then, in 2009 he was presented with the honorary ‘Hunter Valley Living Legend Award’ for his contribution and achievements within the wine industry. He now acts as Chairman of the Legends sub committee of the Hunter Valley Wine and Tourism Association, whose role is to identify and select future Legend contenders.
Phil began a consulting role with Saddler’s Creek Wine collaborating with our head winemaker Brett Woodward. With Phil’s extensive knowledge of Saddler’s winemaking style and in wanting to pay homage to his achievements and our long term relationship, we created the Ryan’s Reserve Collection with the first vintage made in 2012.
