The Vintage Holiday Houses are located in the suburb of Pokolbin amid the restaurants and vineyards of the world-renowned Hunter Valley Region.

We are only a two hour drive north of Sydney and around 30-40 minutes from Newcastle suburbs on the Hunter Expressway.

If you’re travelling from Newcastle on the Hunter Expressway take the exit onto Lovedale Road, then turn right onto Wilderness Road. Turn right onto Wine Country Drive, then turn left onto McDonalds Road and follow signage to The Vintage, which will be on the left.

If you’re driving from Sydney, take the M1 then turnoff at the Cessnock exit. Follow this road until a left onto Lake Road which will take you through Cessnock, along the B82. Turn left onto Palmers Lane then turn right onto McDonalds Road. Follow signage to The Vintage which will be on the right.

The following information will assist you, before you make your booking as well as before you arrive at your accommodation.

Do I need to be vaccinated in order to stay?
Yes. As per the current NSW Public Health Order, all travellers (16 years and older) must be double vaccinated and be able to provide proof of vaccination when requested.

What is the proof of vaccination procedure?
You do not need to submit proof of vaccination prior to your arrival. Upon arriving to our reception office, you must sign in using the QR code and show staff your proof of double vaccination. In order to comply with social distancing, only 1 guest is permitted to check-in and enter our reception office. You will also be required to sign a declaration form, confirming that all members of your party are fully vaccinated as well as confirming that you are not checking-in to self-isolate, you have not attended any exposure sites and that you do not have any reason to believe that you may have Covid-19.

What else is required on check-in?
Along with your proof of vaccination, please provide a physical copy of your photo ID and a credit/debit card. Please be aware that the credit/debit card name must match your name on the photo ID and you will be asked to complete a registration card.

What if there are members of our party that are not double vaccinated?
Unless they are under 16 years old, any guest who is not double vaccinated is not permitted to stay and must return home immediately.

Where do I collect keys from?
You can collect the keys for your holiday house from our reception desk located within the Vintage Realty building on Vintage Drive, Pokolbin. When you enter The Vintage Estate, follow this road until you come to a roundabout where you will find the office building located on the right-hand side. If you turn right at the roundabout you will be able to turn into the carpark behind us.

Can I have an early check-in/late check-out?
Check-in is guaranteed from 2:00pm and check out is at 10:00am. We can advise closer to the check-in date if other times are available for check-in/out, depending on other bookings and scheduled cleaning. If you would like to contact us a few days before your arrival, we will be able to confirm a time for you.

Do I need to make a deposit?
Yes. 50% of the total tariff is due within 48hrs of making your booking. If no payment is received then the booking will be cancelled.

When is the final payment due?
The final payment is due 14 days prior to your arrival date. Payments will not be accepted on arrival.

What do I need to bring?
All linen and cutlery/crockery/cooking equipment is provided at your holiday house. You will need to bring your own food and items such as cooking oil, condiments, foil, cling wrap. As the houses are all individually owned, they may have some of these items but others may not, so it is best to bring it with you to be sure your stay is as smooth as possible. Similarly, some owners may have a coffee pod machine and supply a start up selection for you and others may just have the machine for you to bring your own pods. Some houses may not even have a coffee machine, so they will have sachets of instant coffee for you. If you need to know if a house has a specific item, please contact us directly.

Is there a shuttle bus?
The Vintage does not have its own shuttle bus, however there are several companies that you can pay to use to get around the vineyards and local area. Some of these include The Hunter Hopper which is a hop on/hop off bus that has designated stops/times to several popular local attractions and wineries. Vineyard Shuttles is a private company that you can hire for wine tours or transfers. There are also taxi cabs available that are located at Cessnock (approx. 15 mins away). Are pets allowed at the houses?
We do have a limited number of pet friendly properties available which will allow for up to 2 dogs to be kept outside at an additional cost. To ensure the properties are maintained to the highest standard, please note that dogs are NOT allowed inside the house (unless it is stated in the property description) and must be confined within the fenced areas provided at the property. Additional cleaning costs will be incurred for failure to adhere to these rules or any damage done to the property. Due to Council restrictions, cats and birds are not permitted within The Vintage.
